KA24DE Powered 1971 Datsun 510 Four Door Sedan 5-Speed tranny
-In October 2025 it became a runner after a restoration and modification process that started in 2017.
-Less than 300 miles (in chassis and refreshed engine) have been put on this 510 since the rebuild.
-Runs, drives & brakes as it should. Mechanically sound.
-Miles will keep going up as the car is tagged, registered & regularly driven around town mostly during weekends.
-It has a clean FL title in current owners name and is currently tagged & registered for street use.
Lots of new parts were installed during the restoration process. Please read the entire ad to find out. Furthermore, this is still an ongoing project and needs finishing of some systems but is a solid foundation ready to be taken to the next level.
Needs to complete or tinker with:
1. wiring up head/tail & signal lights (only brake lights are working at this tiime). All the wiring needed will be provided with the sale. Is already there tucked under the dash and in a box under the dash. The wiring is already pre-labeled and it originates from the new Autowire fusebox and relays that I installed inside the glove box.
2. There is no horn or emergency brake
3. There is No carpet or no sound deadening material has been installed so makes the car noisy at cruising speeds.
4. Weather stripping for each door and the trunk has not been installed but will be provided with the sale. This also allows noise (wind whistling & some metal to metal rattling) into the cabin at cruising speeds
5. Small leak at base of Motor oil filter: I installed a "Mishimoto MMOP-TPS Oil Filter Sandwich Plate Adapter" between the motor oil filter and the block to allow for the installation and hook up of the oil pressure gauge. I tried once to fix, checked the integrity of the "O-ring" (was good) and torque "almost" to spec ( tried apx 30 instead of the 35 ft/lbs recommended spec) the Mishimoto sandwich plate but it still has a small leak. I have not tried to torque again at the 35 fr/lbs torque recommended spec.
6. Small leak at Rear tranny seal; I just installed a new one but I guess did not do it right.
7. Small leak at Differential front pinion seal: **A new seal (in its box from Z Car Depot) for the pinion gear where the driveshaft hooks up, will be provided with the sale.
8. windshield wipers not installed but motor (with new bolts from Z car depot) and wiper arms will be provided with the sale. The car has never been driven in the rain but I have applied 'Rain-X" in the winshield just in case.
Paint and exterior:
Repairs to floor pans & fire wall; some Floor pans sections were fabricated
Front and rear cross members were removed to clean undercarriage after floor pans repairs. Undercarriage, interior floor pans and trunk interior were sprayed with Herculiner protective coating
-A new hood, front valance, left driver side rocker panel and front left fender were installed
Upholstery and interior:
Original all black, front and rear seats, original door cards; old dash has a few cracks
New Techno Toy Tuning Rear Trunk Firewall aluminum panel
New Techno Toy Rear "parcel shelf" aluminum panel
New Autogage Tachometer (currently not working)
New Autogage Triple gauges (Oil pressure, Voltage and Temperature)
New SpeedHut custom fuel gauge with New Fuel Gauge Sender Tank Sending Unit
Original two-piece rear seat (backrest and bottom cushion) will be included with the sale. These seats still have what appears to be their original vinyl but may need to be reupholstered.

Tuned ECU due to larger camshafts installed during top end/ head refresh. New ISR Header. New 2.25" Mandrel Exhaust system w/ Cherry Bomb muffler from Ermish Racing. New Custom Wiring Harness ffrom "Wiring Specialties". New Core Harness and fuse box by American Autowire. New Aluminum Radiator with two 12" electric fans w/ new wiring from "Wiring Specialties". New Trunk Mount Battery Relocation Wiring Kit w/ 200A Breaker from "Wiring Specialties"
Mileage:
Miles on the chassis are unknown. Speedo/odometer is not hooked up. As of 26 March 26, Mileage is less than 300 miles after the Nissan S13 KA24 DE engine's top end was refreshed , swapped & became a runner for street use back in October 2025.
Wheels and tires:
15 x 7 Center Line Wheels with Ironman tires; 4 Center Line wheel caps will be included with the sale
Front suspension was modified with Techno Toy Tuning T3 adjustable coilovers w/ Koni Sport Short Stroke Shock Inserts, built with the cars original strut casings & included sand blasting, shortening the casings and then powder coating. These were rebuilt using brand new Gland Nuts, Koni Sport Short Stroke Shock Inserts, T3 Coilover Components & Hyper Coils /T3 standard springs. T3 adjustable camber plates and 1" knuckle risers were also installed

New Stainless steel brake lines from Z car Depot,
Drum to disc brake conversion in the rear with first gen Nissan 240sx S13 new brake calipers and rotors.
Fuel System Overhaul: New stainless steel fuel lines by "Classic Tube", 3/8" & 5/16" send & return, New ISR Fuel Pressure regulator, New Speedhut fuel gauge, New Ermish Wilwood front brake kit

Nissan S13 Five Speed manual transmission swap with fresh Red Line synthetic GL-4 manual transmission oil
Short Shifter
Brand new competition white bunny clutch and flywheel kit
New transmission polyurethane mount and bracket
Differential: Stock diff with fresh Red Line GL-5 75W90 Gear Oil
